Booking this motel was a last minute choice, right in the peak holiday period after Christmas and before New Years. I liked its nice central location, it had enough space to accommodate me and my 4 girls, and I could book for a single night’s stay. The cost was $241.15 booked through booking.com.
Upon arriving, the motel manager was friendly but a little forth coming with some less than pleasant stories of his personal past. He also seemed less than pleased to give me all the rooms I’d booked as well.
Having said that, the rooms were spacious and clean. The unit we booked was an upstairs unit with a great sized lounge with a sofa, sitting chair, table and chairs and a queen bed. The first bedroom had a queen bed and single bed, and the other bedroom had 2 bunks. The bathroom was nice and roomy and the kitchen was good too. The kitchen also gave a slightly obstructed view to the small onsite playground which was handy.
The wee playground was only accessible through the office, but the kids enjoyed having something onsite to play on.
We loved how centrally located the motel was. Across the road was a fish and chip shop and a stroll up the road took us to McDonalds and a bit further, the town centre.
We were also lucky to stay during a lightening and thunderstorm. My children and I enjoyed our clear view over the rooftops of the lightening streaking the sky.
All in all, a good stay and worth the money.
