PAK’nSAVE – Wainoni Review : Grotty but well catered to disabled and elderly

No Comment Yet

PAK’nSAVE is generally your cheapest supermarket chain in New Zealand. Their products may not be quite up to the same standard as some of the other supermarkets, and you have to pay for plastic bags and pack your own groceries, but if those things don’t bother you, then PAK’nSAVE is likely to be your preferred supermarket.

PAK’nSAVE Wainoni is well set up to cater for disabled, elderly and parents with a wide range of trolleys to suit your requirements. There are disabled trolleys that can be used with wheelchairs, high trolleys for the elderly, and a variety of trolleys with baby chairs or 2 seats in front for parents.

The instore cafe was definitely a bonus. Having a coffee while you stroll through the isles picking out your groceries is a real plus in my books.

In general however, I found the store quite grotty and poorly laid out. It was difficult to find the things I needed, and it had a very haphazard feel about it.

NB: PAK’nSAVE Wainoni was in the process of being rebuilt when I went there, so a re-review would need to be done to see how the new store stacks up to the old. The new store is due to open at 9am on Wednesday 19th August.
